Soul Care for Clergy, Lay Leaders, and Parishioners
Soul Care, Mentorship, and Counseling
Pastoring involves preaching the Word of God, but, more literally, pastoring is shepherding the people of God. Clergy and lay leaders, however, are still sheep themselves. The Barnabas Society wants to partner with ministers to provide Christian counseling and mentorship to ministers and laity in need. In America, there are many excellent preachers and Bible teachers. However, rural America is hurting for bona fide pastors, i.e., those who will "rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep" (Rom. 12:15). See below for ways we may be able to partner with you.

Soul Care Options
There are three broad categories of soul care that the Barnabas Society can provide:
Christian Counseling
We can provide counseling services at a discounted rate or help on the search for a theologically serious and clinically informed counselor. Counseling services are subject to the availability of counselors affiliated with the Conference.
Consultations
We can provide consults with a Board Certified Christian Counselor (BCCC). Consults are designed to help the local church develop the skills necessary to care for her members.
Mentorship/Coaching
We can connect clergy and lay leaders with an experienced minister who can provide mentorship, support, and coaching especially tailored for rural ministry.
